There are three sets of these "burglar bars" at the first balcony, house left. Each individual bar was produced in plaster, after I made a copper blade to cut the profile in the wet plaster. They were then cut up and assembled to duplicate the original pieces. Then a "dash" coat was applied. This "dash" appears on the ornamentation throughout the theatre. As you can see here, the "dash" really obscures the detail work. In my opinion, it is a real shame that the crispness of the modeling work was covered up. I have no idea what the rationalization was for this decision.
